Beautiful, haunting and laced in sublet narrative. Huang Xiaoliang’s work somehow manages to be vague and vivid at the same time. Produced by sometimes photographing walls then projecting images onto those walls presents a the friction between the real and perceived which grounds the work and the complex issue it subtlety addresses about modern China.
