Eve Arnold an inspiration

Image taken from the book ‘In China’

‘Life well spent is long’, I think Da Vinci said that. Eve Arnold was never spoken about in my years of study. I came to her work through my own research on China. It is clear from her vast body of work that she if one of the masters of portraiture. Her work seems to me to be delicately engaging but above all long lasting in its timeless capture of an element of personal honesty in her subjects. Arnold is a true inspiration who’s work shall live on after her many years spent on this earth (April 21, 1912 – January 4, 2012).
